Question Mark

I do not have lower resistance, nor dragons breath. Im a lvl 12 solo sorcerer, my spellbook is according to Dundee Slaytern's Solo sorc spell list, check http://www.angelfire.com/poetry/ds_s...Main_Page.html. ALL my offensive spells have *no* effect. Summon spiders and me hurling Melfs Meteors can only damage the Rakshasa on a critical hit and even then the damage is limited.

BTW, I checked the AC for the Rakshasas as BG2 implement them, namely by ctrl-Q'ing one. Its -9.

BTW2, cool link AzRaeL, WTG!!

[NOTE] Someone tell me how to nicely insert html? thnx!

Try [a href="http://www.angelfire.com/poetry/ds_skane/BG2_Webpages/SSSL/Main_Page.html"]Link text here...[/a] but replacing the ['s for <'s and the ]'s for >'s.

Rakshasas are immuned to level 1-7 spells. I would recommed you come back when you are level 14 or 15. 14 if you postpone Project Image and get Mordenkainen's Sword. 15 for the ever lovable Skeleton Warrior.

Oh yeah, I forgot, postponing a battle is quite a valid option . OMG, I just wasted 1 hour of my life trying to kill Ihlfateer with 4 sword spiders and 5xMMM, hoping for 10 consecutive criticals

The D&D world steals with arms and legs from all myths and legends. They often make a mockery of it too. Some of the worse examples:

Djinn and Efreet: In arabic folklore djinn was malevolent spirits who possessed or tempted people to do evil things, much like the devils of european folklore. In D&D they suddenly become magical goody two-shoes. The efreet of arabic folklore did look monstrous and scary with horns, fangs and inhuman faces, but they were usually benevolent but mischevious nature spirits much like faeries and chinese dragons. In D&D they are portrayed as cruel servants of the fiends.

The Greek gods: TSR managed to make an utter and complete mockery of the greek pantheon. Apparantly they thought them all to be good-natured but boisterous chaotic good lot. The authentic greek gods were much different, but also much more interesting (even in a fantasy setting).
Both Apollon and Athena represented what we would call "lawful alignment" with Apollon exemplifying such virtues as restraint and self-control and Athena exemplifying such virtues as respect for authority, obedience and civilty.
Dionysos and Ares represented the opposites. Ares exemplified "the barbarian virtues" such as freedom of action and uncontrolled might. Dionysos exemplified other chaotic notions such as freedom of expression and unfettered emotions.
The greek gods were not really split between good and evil in the same way as, for example the norse or egyptian gods. They were all capable of good acts as well as cruelty. Even Apollon, the benevolent god of healing and music was also the god of plagues and guilty of rape.
Ares, the great greek war-god, portrayed in D&D as wise but evil was originally a an uncivilised barbarianesque figure, strong and handsome, but utterly stupid.

Well, I could go on for ages. Noticed the Rom in Trademeet? What the hell is an eastern european people doing on Toril??
