I have a quick question, but it may be impossible to answer right now, since I am at work as I write this and can't give every exact detail...

My wife called me to say there is a problem with the computer. Upon starting the computer, shegot a message saying a virus had been detected and automatically deleted. Ok, fine. She then tried to start a program and got a message about a "Rundll" error.

What would "rundll" be associated with?

I walked her through a system restore and it seems ok now, but I don't know if I should still be concerned about either the virus or this rundll thing.

I know that's pretty vague, but does anyone have any ideas?

Rundll is a program that runs program code contained in a .dll file.

Anyway, if the scanner isnt finding the virus anymore, your probably safe. You might want to run trend micro hoursecall to make sure.

Yeah, make sure it is gone, Rundll viruses are really nasty, often stopping you from opening anything, I remember when Lennon had one and we couldnt even run solitaire or Explorer
