I am constantly amazed at what people will buy or sell on that site!
-------------------------- Associated Press Last updated Thursday, February 3, 2005 Pregnant woman's belly gets $4,000 on eBay MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- A woman selling advertising on her pregnant belly will receive $4,050 from the highest eBay auction bidder, Golden Palace Casino. Amber Rainey will have the online casino's Web site temporarily tattooed to her stomach Thursday. It will remain until she delivers her first child, due on March 21. Rainey didn't think her belly would fetch much as advertising space, but the casino has a record of unusual buys in online auctions, including paying $28,000 for a grilled cheese sandwich that bears the image of the Virgin Mary. Rainey has received national attention as her eBay auction page received more than 50,000 hits. Still, she said she was surprised by the final bid price and other possible perks. Rainey said Golden Palace officials would like her to expose her belly at concerts and the Super Bowl, though no final decisions have been made. She hasn't decided whether she would auction another body part or stomach again. "Maybe once is enough," she said. [ 02-04-2005, 01:52 PM: Message edited by: Cloudbringer ]

Jeeze louise. That's crazy.
I love eBay, the world would be so boring without it! It always involves that crazy Casino don't it? |

So far the Casino's got 2 strikes...er points... LOL But yes Sigmar, I agree, what would we do for bizarre topics of conversation if it weren't for the people of Ebay!

Geez, grilled cheese, duff, a guy's mom, an air guitar, now a woman's belly. I bet I could change my name to elvis just to use a guitar pick and trick people on ebay into buying it.

I'm not surprised that people are willing to sell these kind of things, I'm more surprised that there are actual buyers out there. Or bidders, at least.

I wonder if she has considered gaining a new contract for the rear end of her babies diapers? It'd last longer than the one she presently holds lol. People will sell anything won't they? Stratos, Yeah, I wonder what possesses the buyers of some of the odder things that actually get sold!

Some guy on Ebay sold the space on his FOREHEAD for any tatoo for a year. Imagine that, having a guy that is your marketing campaign, I heard he sold it for over 40k dollars.

If you remember the Celebrity Boxing shows, Golden Palace got their logo tattoed on several of the competitors (temporarily, AFAIK). They're old hands at this name recognition game...

Yes, I really wonder about people who buy some of these things! I hear this one on the local radio and went looking for it. LOL But there are plenty more out there, I'm sure!
LOL, true, if she does get photographed or on camera for the Super Bowl, the Casino will have made back it's investment...but uh... I dunno, I'm with Violet, the baby diaper option sounds like a good 'product' now!
