Just Need to Rant NWN
So I just installed my platinum edition on my laptop, which runs on Windows Vista.
I tested it, it ran just fine. Then I installed the 1.69 patch. I had to download the critical rebuild since the updater was not working. Kept on timing out, or patch download error. So I installed the critical build, then I executed the game. Now the videos were showing up... great! Then, poof. Now it would not even restart. The game menu pops up, where play, update, toolset buttons are about, and it would never enter the game proper. It is really irritating, especially when I thought I was going to get a glimpse of Aribeth, and all the game glory I am about to mass. |

Don't know whether it is relevant on a pc, but when updating on a mac it wasn't possible to go from 1.30 to 1.69, I had to run through the older update files first and then finally use add in the 1.69.

Here's what happened.
As far as I know, I used the update option. It then updated it to 1.63. That was the version it was showing. Then that is when the updater failed. So I installed the critical rebuild, and that's my post.

One possibility is that the movies are causing a problem (this is a known problem with some set-ups), try turning them off:
Open the nwn.ini file and add the following line in [Display Options] Disable Intro Movies=1
