Default FF8 triple triad question

I need to know where/how you can win back a rare card that you've lost, say in the name of getting a newer rare card via the card queen.

I know someone collects them and you can play them for them, but who? And where do I find them.

On a side note, is there an easier way of getting dragon skins other than running around trying to encounter Anacondours and hoping they'll drop them?

thank's for any help.

Yeah, I'm notorious for getting to the almost end or just the beginning of the last disc, then stopping. This time I went all the way through.

So far I've got the NES FF, FF8, & FF9 beat. FF8 just a couple days ago. Pretty nice, 100% completed minus the pocket station bit with chicobo, cuz I don't have one and from what I've heard, it's not really worth it. Got to the point where I felt safe on Islands closest to Heaven/Hell, and the final battle was still challenging.

It's such a fun game- I do believe it got a bad rap because it came after Final Fantasy Seven, whereas I played this one first. I started playing through it again a few months ago, but stopped at the tedious dream world sequence on Disc One when they're going through Lunatic Pandora... Generally, I lose interest for a few months during the tedious dream world sequences. Oh well. Glad I'm not the only one still playing it.

I dunno, I'm more convinced that a bunch of elitist fanboy's wanted to dictate what was a "true" final fantasy game. That was the #1 complaint I'd heard, "It's not a real FF game" etc. If you're really an all out fan you'd love it just that it really does stay true to the spirit of the game.

Now the FF movie on the other hand, pretty cool, but other than the 8 Spirits (elementals?) and the title, there's little to no correlation with anything in the game series. No swords, no spells, complete lack of trademark references like ragnarok, Cid, or Biggs and Watts which all appear in two or more FF games.

For the record, I'm not a major fanboy, I just have a hideously good long-term memory. Short term memory is crap though.

How can people say it's not a "real" FF game? It has save points, and you can cast Ultima. And, as you mentioned, there's Cid and a Ragnarok. After that, I'm really not sure what else people want.

I think what it boiled down to was they didn't like the battle system (more specifically the magic drawing, and monsters leveling up as you do) , and they probably felt they should have gotten gil after every battle rather than from walking around.

I personally found it pretty good, and if you're a reasonably good player you have mountains of unspent gil before your anywhere near the end of the game. I think I finished the game a level 16 SeeD via the test, I actually started out a 9 or something like that.

I like FF8, played FF7 before playing FF8, and while FF7 is one of the best FF games ever, FF8 still is on a level that most RPGs cannot reach. It is still FF material. But for FF standards, it might be on the lower half instead of the upper half.

Remembering FF8: I was so strong because I stressed on full magic draws. Whenever there is new magic, I must draw 100 of them. It was lovely. LOL! I did not like the memory loss part due to the GFs. And Squall's personality. Too emo for me.

Yeah I had everyone geared up with Full-life and Ultima maxed on Elemental defences so I would always absorb at least 60% of elemental attacks. Didn't learn til during the final battles that the worst of the final boss attacks were non-elemental.
