Alright as most of you probably know
We in the Netherlands have a policy that legalises the use of SoftDrugs
I also know the lots of you think this is wrong
My question is Why should we forbit SoftDrugs if Alcohol, a Hard Drug, is allowed and freely available

(soft drugs is not addictive and less damaging then alcohol)

Many "soft" drugs have been proven to be as damaging as Alchol in the long term. But, I agree- we shouldnt disallow them if alchohol is allowed. Alchohol is more damging in the short term, has more obvious side effects, and tastes disgusting anyway .
IMO, all drugs of such nature should either be banned or allowed. Not half this way half that way depending on whether theyre "soft" or "hard".

Well mayb its because the big thing is that most ppl r happy that Alcohol is legal while lots of other drugs arent... and if they were legalized(sp?) they would start protesting that Dope etc. should b legalized too??

IMHO people should be allowed to do what they wish, so long as they aren't causing harm to others and they're enjoying themselves, I can't see a problem.

I believe that the reason that alcohol and tobacco are "more" legal than soft drugs such as marajuna is the control aspect on who distributes the substance. I'm sure you all realize that most of the money you spend on beer and cigarettes goes straight back to the hands of the government for use in (mainly) health and prevention of said substance, however with the intricate network of dealers and growers that is already in place for weed, the government would have an extremely hard time trying to tax the product, thus not making it commercialy viable. In other words... it's all about money!

In my opinion alcohol is at least as bad as soft drugs, I know a few people who do soft drugs on rare occasions and they seem to have taken less damage from it than the people I know who drink alcohol often.... Legalize soft drugs and illegalize alcohol

This is true...as you said, it's all about money!
When the governments find a way to make money of marijuana, it will surely be legalized

Uh, find a way to make money off marijuana? It's not that hard, you sell it, heh. If you think about it, cigarettes are stupider than marijuana. Cigarettes contain tons of harmful chemicals, and it does nothing for you except kill your lungs. Marijuana is less or just as harmful, but gives you a high, so it's not quite pointless as cigarettes are. Not that I use drugs though, just not my thing. Just my two gold pieces for ya.

Legalize them and tax the heck out of them like they do alcohol...BUT....if a person injurs themself thru the use of these products I think they should be exempt from collecting any social welfare from the state. I don't want my tax dollars going to support weak willed addicts or supplying medical care for them because they CHOSE to use substances that are harmful....likewise do away with motorcycle helmet laws, just don't use tax money to treat head injuries of those who CHOOSE not to use the helmet. With CHOICE comes consequences, as long as you accept consequences of the choice, and responsibility for your actions, Im all for freedom.

Regin you old dopehead, I knew you'd be here!!!!

Ok, I've said this before, but:

The Government will NEVER make money off of weed. They cannot tax natural substances. Hence why alchohol is legal, and weed is not.

That's the be all and end all, nothing to do with harming youself or others. (hard drugs is about this but...)

So if weed was man-made, it WOULD be illegal, ORheavily taxed!

And I'd rather have "soft drugs" legalised and drink banned...just mine (and regin's) opinions!

hehe
