http://www.earthday.net/footprint/index.asp#

Then find out how many earth's we would need to sustainably support humanity if everybody was the same.

I roll in at 2.9 global hectares, of which most of that is down to food. It's very good compared to the UK average which is 5.3hectares/person but unfortunately we would still need 1.6 worlds for it to be sustainable.

Its certainly food for thought.

Edit:

The FAQ is interesting reading too:

"IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 1.4 PLANETS."

Eh? "We"? I'll be dead before we need another .4 of a planet!

I needed 1.8. I did it at school as well. But IIRC it was flawed cause of some questions.

2.2 planets, and most of it was probably the living space.

I can't but to wonder what this test really shows. Does it take into account hat you can use the same hectar in a energy efficient and non energy efficient manner?

According to this test, in order to get just one planet, you'll almost need to be 7 vegetarian people living in a 30 m2 Green-design house with no electricity, and uses only your legs, a bicycle or some form of animal for transportation.
