Well, what games are you guys drooling over for next year? Personally, there are four for me
  • Oblivion
  • Hellgate: London
  • Supreme Commander
  • Final Fantasy XII
Oblivion just looks like the next big step for the Elder Scrolls. Bethesda really have distinguished themselves, in my mind, as great creators of openended RPGs that still manage to seem fresh throughout. Hellgate is surprising, considering I never really got into Diablo, but it really looks sweet. The random creation elements as well as the great production team really looks good to me. Also, I'm a sucker for novel RPG concepts (see my addiction to Arcanum.) Supreme Commander also looks like a doozie. If Chris Taylor manages to pull off what they've been talking about (a strategic level RTS that manages to keep in elements of tactical RPSs), I can see me losing a lot of time on this. Not to mention the graphics look sweet. Finally, FFXII. I was really disappointed when they decided to go Pay-by-month for FFXI. My gaming style is to play games intensely for a little while, then do something else, so that didn't make financial sense. I got a DVD of this game with DragonQuest XIII, and man, it's terrific. Some of the innovations (like seamless combat-transitions), seem so basic, and yet it's really refreshing when you play it. Another novel setting too.

Final Fantasy XII is my most anticpated game, although I'm not quite as fanatical about the series as I used to be. Should be good though.

I'm also hoping Shin Megami Tenseiigital Devil Saga 1+2 get released in Europe. They've been out for ages in the USA and Japan but we still haven't got a European release I don't hold to much hope they'll get released here though

Hmmm... I can't really think of any others, although if the Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition is released I might buy that (or the already released God of War).

Fallout 3 is in development, but by Bethesda, who ended up with the rights to the franchise, and FO3 is now in pre-production, but without any definite timeline.

KotoR III has not officially been announced yet.

Sound like a money grab to me. They got the franchise and they're going to milk it to death. I'm not expecting anything else from Atari.
