Hmm, my bookshelves are filled up with comics, but they're mostly European, so I won't bother anyone with it. As for better known comics, there's Dilbert, of course. And I enjoyed the UK and US versions of the Marvel Transformers Comics, have scans of all of them.

The old Asterix comics are fun, too, though I suspect quite a few Europeans now regard 'em as passe. You have to realize that they're still barely known in the US. A friend from Belgium turned me onto 'em back around 1985, and I've got the lot, through the point where the original writing half of the team died. Great stuff.

Can't pick just one, so Calvin & Hobbes and Bloom County get my vote.

I used to love everything in the 'Beano' when I was a young kid living in London. Every week I'd run to the local newsagents with 30p in my hand and an excited look on my face

Krazy Kat! Bang on there. The most whimsical, cute, strange - and, in a curious way, touching - comic strip I have ever encountered. Lovely.

Garfield Is a god of all comics, followed colely by the far side comics (if you count them as a comic STRIP).

Garfield and Dilbert in a dead heat! Dilbert hits too close to home (or should I say work) and with six cats around the house how can I NOT like Garfield!

Bloom County was great. Breathed lost his fastball too soon (Outland!?!), but while he was on his game, there wasn't anything better.
