If you got identify glasses or identify spell, lore is useless right? It only lets you identify objects as I know. What's the role of the lore?

It has more use in a real D&D game. In BG, however, you are right...as long as you have another way to cheaply identify objects, Lore serves no real purpose. It is on;y used to save some of those spells/scrolls, etc.

bUT LORE IS THE CHEAPEST WAY TO IDENTIFY A ITEM, AND FOR SIMPLE THINGS LIKE +1 ITEMS ITS REAL HANDY.

You'll be able to identify just about anything with a high-level bard. Who wants to memorize all those Identify spells?

I find Lore handy for when I have a lot of magic stuff and want to use my Identify spells/scrolls for the biggies.

Lore is very useful!!!

Lore is not so important or in other words WIS is not necessary for any cless except priests. Yes, WIS effects bardic lore but your LORE is ALWAYS enough to identify even your WIS is 8.

Actually, lore is pretty useful. I'm sure you don't want to spend your spell slots on identify spells, and the glasses of identification can identify only three items a day. I don't know how often you sleep, but I usually come across more than 21 magical items a week. The only other way to identify items is to pay about 100 gp per item (whether it is a single arrow or a 40-pack).

Surely all those +1 items aren't worth the trouble to identify before selling them, and unidentified they're also worth nothing. Even with a relatively low lore you can identify those items, but the bigger ones can be identified on the spot as well (especially if you have a bard or a mage with high wisdom and intelligence). And, it's practically free too

Well I have to agree with the others I sure find it handy for the +1,+2 items. It saves on the pocket book. Then Again it is not like there is a shortage of selling items and getting gold. So I find it handy.

Lore is extremely usefull, instead of wasting lots of gold to identify lesser powerful magical items it does it for you, if your entire party is fighters them I could see why it would suck but if you got a mage or bard in thier its very usefull.

Lore is pretty good when all the other characters can´t hardly distinguish normal +1 greatsword from a teaspoon and a good bard just tummages through the backpack and everything is identified..

Lore is good, but you need a bard for it!
