Ugh, sorry to hear that Larry. I have had to use the saline rinse method a few times when badly congested or I had a sinus infection. Basically using an 'ear dropper' for infants, you put a tsp of salt in a cup of warm water , then use the dropper to squirt the saline mixture up your nose (inhale while squirting it, and hold the other side closed) and though it's not pleasant, it does seem to help clear the passageways for a little while. My doctor says this also helps clear contaminants out that might cause or add to an infection.
Warning- the water does come down your throat and/or out your nose... blech...

I tried the saline solution. I used a teaspoon of sea salt (the instructions said anything besides table salt) and a teaspoon of baking soda with lukewarm water. I did what I could with this, but it has not solved the problem.
Purple, I'll try the remedies you mentioned. I have chamomille starting to grow in the garden but it's not ready yet for use. I'll have to go to a mexican store where they sell it as "manzanilla". I can also pick up some habanero peppers while I am there. Kakero and Callum, if this ever happens again to me...I think I actually will go ahead and die because I miss the taste of food SO much! When I get my taste buds back...I am going to gain like 20 freaking pounds of all the junk that I'll eat in that first hour. I already have a list of the things that I must taste again, in order of importance.

You don't need "raw" chamomile for chamomile tea, at least around here it's sold as processed tea, in those little tea-bags you can get for other flavours, too.
I'd be curious to taste the "pure" version, though. |

Isn't a cobbler basically a pie without a crust? Sounds like a bloody mess to me.
A1 also sounds like something you pour in an engine, not on a food. |

Next time, take a few shots of brandy. That'll peel the paint from your walls and clear out your whole nasal region. The beauty of it is, if it doesn't, you won't care.
And I'm not kidding, either.
