Yesterday, I decided to lug my computor down to get some junk for Sim City, and to test my PC's internet speed compared to my Mac's. So, I was busy downloading stuff, when I got a lovely notice about windows having to shut down and stuff, in 1 minute. Below that it said something about System32/lsass.exe. It took about 5 restarts of that before I clued in. Now, it's not the fact that I caught the Sasser worm that's annoying, it's that I caught it first, then 20 minutes later I caught it again... . The one time I take my PC downstairs, is the one time I catch a virus/worm. My PC isn't going down there for a while now.

I managed to get that one straight from Microsoft. It was a nasty little bugger to get rid of too.

Downloading SP1 for XP. Everytime I downloaded, the critter would hijack a ride. Took my a while to figure out what was going on, because I was doing a clean install at the time.

It just restarts you computor every so often with 1 minute notice. Go here and download the thingy, and follow it's instructions.

hrm
ok
i tried almost all of the things on those websites...
and none of them detected the file let alone destroyed it
or is this worm something that hacks into the lsass file rather than that file in of itself being the worm?

dont quite know how to edit my registry/stop the puter from trying to run spyware dll's (currently every boot up it says it cant find a bridge dll that i deleted manually - annoying!)

That's all I used, the d/l on the website I gave you. For me, at least, it showed 12 files deleted on the little message thing. Perhaps you should try andrewas on this one, that's all I really know. Sorry.
