I was looking at the forcast today and it seems that a hurricane will be on it's way here. (To Cuba.) I'm not to worried about it, as the winds are only 80 KM an hour. (Pretty weak for a hurricane.) Besides if it stays on it's course it'll have to go right through a very mountainous island. (I think it's Haiti) If it does it'll be drained big time, and might not even make it to us. It'll probably turn and miss us completely anyway. I'm hoping so! It should hit Monday, so i'll do as much posting as I can. Just in case the power goes out for days!

That sounds quite alarming. You seem pretty cool, have you faced a hurricane before? I haven´t. In Germany, the possibility of apes flying out of my is higher than the one of a hurricane showing up.

Yeah i've been in a hurricane before. Not that scary as long as you block the windows and stuff. Our power is constantly going out, so that's my only worry. No cpu, no vagrant story, no tv, no nothing. The Sea of Swords isn't out yet, and it wouldn't be here if it was. Our library sucks big time. Aw well i've got a game boy. Time to bust out some Pokemon! I was addicted once. *Hangs head in shame*

You don´t have an emergency power supply unit for such cases? It is quite lightheaded not to have your comp supplied with power during a power shortage. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Hope all goes well with the Hurricane Redblueflare! How are you enjoying Cuba? Do you actually get to leave the military base? I will watch the weather now with a bit of interest now that I (sort of) know someone that might be in a hurricane

As for power supplies, you could always rig up a pedal-power generator! It might be a bit difficult to type and scroll the mouse while pedaling, but at least you would up and running

Redblueflare,
I've been through four, including two in the same year (Elaina, & Opal) no elect. is a pisser. From the looks of the map and location she should head south of gitmo, she's gonna hit the warm Gulf waters and get big. Watch out gulf coast.
I'm tak'n bets I say cat.3 boardline cat.4, 8-10 days Miss.-Alabama line. Winner gets bragg'n rights. All predictions can be submitted and changed until she makes her turn north.

have typhoons here all the time, considering my country is beside the pacific ocean. i actually dont notice the typhoons till they declare no classes. while i feel quite same in this city, it is not so in the provinces. i didnt know that typhoons can get really bad with people who dont have proper shelter and equipment.

Cuba isn't all that bad. I like it here. It's always hot and windy, and it rains a lot. Although the rain never lasts that long. Nope we can't leave the base. Castro hates any and all things American. The gates might be open one day, but i'll probably be gone by then.
I'll talk my dad into buying a backup battery. The dang power is always going out here. I know three simple words that could solve the problems. *Backup Generator* I suppose I should take my own advice.

Do you get to go to the beach any, RBF, or is travel restricted outside of the base?

I don't know about hurricanes, but we're getting the best rain we've had today in North Texas in ages. It's pouring buckets out there, and heavens knows, we need it!
