Help w/ IEEP

damn, im having so much trouble w/ my item im trying to create! i have no experience-this explains a bit- in item creation, and im trying to get a bonus wizard spell 2-handed sword. im trying to get 5 more for 1st, 4th, 8th, and 9th lvl. i can get the first lvl, but none of the others work. the ninth level requires a modifier of 256, but it goes down to 255 when i click on something else. the paperdoll icon doesnt come up when i equip it (that i can equip it is a miracle!), and when i try to go back to the game, it crashes it! if it helps, im trying to create a +5 two handed sword.

they have whole forums dedicated to :

spell developement
and program usage.
that would be the best source of info for the questions your having
as all of the people over there do this stuff all the time

i know that, but i tend to use them as a last resort. i prefer forums w/ ppl like this, and im sure they have more things to do than help me which is y im reluctant to ask them for help. now could someone here plz answer my questions?

They are real helpful over a TeamBG concerning Item creation and all that. I have asked questions over there about Item Editing.

It helps a lot if the item you are using for your model already has some of the abilities that you are trying to assign, as that will give you something to build off of. As for plus 5 swords, go to Carsomyr, and change who can use it, in the first page of the create item pages. It should say something like useability. Make sure that the item is droppable, so that you will be able to move it from chr to chr, and equip it. For more advanced help, post for TL, as it is his program. The support over there is really great.

Sephiroth, are you creating from scratch or are you using a template? Are you using item effects or equipping effects?

I'd suggest using Dakkon's Zerth Blade as a template. I've created a +5 katana that adds extra spells to 9th level.

Man, I'd use a template, much easier. A template is simply an existing item which has the effects you are looking for. Dakkon's Zerth Blade will give you 2 extra 1st-4th level spells, so load that item file. Just replicate the spell ability all the way to 9th level. Then change the ground/inventory/game icons to the ones that you want as well as the weapon type etc. When done, save under a new name. It's a lot easier than starting from scratch and you minimize the possibility that you forget to fill something in.
