Um, help?

I'm a moron. Long story short

I'm new to IWD/BG2. But not RPG's or AD&D. I decided to hack the characters and give each 2 items they shouldn't have. My casters have staves. but I don't know how to activate them. One is able to ressurect, but I don't know how to use it. Anyone have any ideas?

Im not sure what staff is this, but special abilities of items normally appear in a "bag" icon in the lower part of the screen. Clicking there you access to a list of special ablities of your items. note that you must have this item equipped to be able to cast the special ablity (is not enough having it in the inventory).

Ok, I found the spells. Like I said, I'm a moron, should have been obvious. But I can't cast them. Do I have to be a specific level to use a staff? Like I said, I twinked my characters, so at level 1 Monster Summoning IV is kinda high (I still have trouble even twinked, so it's all good)

The best advise i can give is to read the manual. If you don't have the print version, there should be one installed with the game. It might be a read me file or one of it's own. Check it out.

Then i dunno, the level doesnt affect for items special abilities.
I dont know if this is just TOO obvious, but do you follow these steps ?:
1.- click the bag
2.- click on the icon of the spell you wanna cast
3.- click on the objective (the aim for your spell, some spells have it (like magic missile) and others dont (like stone skin))

and stop saying youre a moron, man, everyone has been a newbie !!!

Depending on what you used to twink 'em in, you may not have any charges. I used gatekeeper to get a black knight once and it showed up with 0 charges and unuseable. I would use the in game cheat command GETYOURCHEATON:CreateItem("XXXX", 1000) Where you replace XXXX with the file name for whatever item you want. What software/method did you use to get them and what items are they specifically?
