Skeleton warriors for me (I'm a necromancer, remember). I summoned a Planetar against the
******MINOR SPOILER************** S P O I L E R * * * black dragon in Watchers Keep, it didn't have a chance...pretty bummer, but then again, which monster CAN defeat a dragon on it's own?? Well, anyways, the hakeashar does way better (probably because of their magical healing). A planetar (with globe of blades) + 4 skeletal warriors would have taken a rather large chunk out of that dragon, methinks.

In ToB, a Planetar has got to be the best single summon. Combined, a Planetar, 3 Greater Elementals, and an Elemental Prince is the best. Among other things, Planetars, get 3 of each of the best Cleric/Druid spells, as well as three of a bunch opf good Mage spells. That's better than Devas or any other summon, for that matter, not to mention that their melee weapon is the Silver Sword (just a non-droppable version of it)
