Which way should I choose to get in the asylum? With the ward stone or being admitted? What's the difference between the two and which one do you recommend?

being admitted gets a guided tour but not much else. Getting the wardstone gets a fight with a wizard, Exp and the book of endless spells.

My cheat book for the game recommends that you take the Ward Stone option. Most of the people that I know that took the Admittance path say that it is easier to get there, without having to fight for the stone, but I personally would rather do the siege method. I followed the book's advise.

Go the Pirate Captain's house, bribe the door guard to enter the house. Once inside... ... kill the Pirate Captain. 10,000 Xp.

Go to the Mage holding the Wardstone, kill him too, Xp and Book of Infinite Spells.

When flipping page to change spell, save first, just in case.

Walk to Spellhold, depending on time,

Day,

Lizardmen and Air Golems

Night,

Shadows.

Enter Spellhold.

If you have Yoshimo in your party at this point of time... ... strip him. Yeah. You heard me. Strip him nekkid... ...

You will find out why later.

In the dream sequence in the asylum is there any way not to lose points (wisdom, intel, const, dexterity)? Also is there any armor that Imoen can wear w/o having her wizard spells disabled?

Mages can wear Elven Chainmail.

But wouldn't you rather have robes instead? Unless your mage is tanking! Resistances from robes are better than AC for mages.

Thanks. What robe would you suggest and does anybody know anything about the dream in the asylum?

No, there is no way to avoid losing a stat point.
And as for the initial question, I always go and kill the mage to get the book of spells, and then I have myself admitted through the Pirate Captain.
If you have been admitted and didn't kill the wizard, you can do so later when you return from the Asylum.

' ' In the dream sequence I sacrificed my charisma because the ring of human influence you get in the circus in wakeen's promenade has an automatic 18 charisma when you wear it ( I took it off before the dream sequence started ).i also recommend the robe of whatever your alignment is. ( robe of good archmagi, neutral, and evil).

if you have the bonus Merchants, the Robe of Vecna is probably the best robe in the game.
