Dan--I am sorry to hear about this...my thoughts are with you and your mother.

My grandfather had a similar episode about 4 years ago. He was found to have ulcers and they were treated with no problems. He is on medication now and has had to alter his diet, but he has had no reoccurences since. I hope that your mother's condition is similar and that she too can come out of this well!

Dan, I started the prayers before I even read this. I couldn't get into the thread (server trouble) and now that I'm here, seeing this, I'll send a few more your way. So know that prayers and thoughts that your mother gets well and is home soon and for your peace of mind are in full swing.

Please let us know how she (and you!) are doing. And sleep if you can. You'll be better able to cope with things if rested.

God Bless and keep you all.

Things are looking better, they have 'cauterized' (sp) the area that was bleeding in the stomach, and they are moving her up to a non critical area!!

It took me nearly 2 hours to get to sleep, and even then it was a very light one. I feel SO much better though.. man guys!!!

What scares me the MOST is when I went to go get a drink, I heard her in her room groaning, so I went in and found her like that.. what makes me ill is that I almost went to BED early instead of staying up late.. If I didn't stay up late, I am sure she would have died. Thank Tymora I was up (Luck)

MY Stomach is aching since last night, and even while I was trying to go to bed. Is THIS an ulser or just what people call 'worried sick' ?

I'm going back again in a sec, so more info when I return!

THANK YOU ALL FOR PRAYERS! Thank God for friends like you guys!!!!!!! I mean it!

Dan

I had a highly acid stomach myself for many years - lucky not to get ulcers - but eventually it was diagnosed as being caused by a non-viral infection that causes high acidity. I had a course of triple antibiotic to kill it off and have had no problem from it since.

I will try to call her and ask her tonight. I think that her's is Viral, as you stated your's was non-viral, and that made me remember something she told me about it. I'll talk to you later, when I find out. Maybe you know of a better cure than the current prescription that she is on. I can only hope.
