I was conversing with Ilander, and we had an idea. As we are having a bit of trouble with funds, we were wondering if any part of this had to do with the space this forum required? If so, a plausible way of using less space is deleting the accounts of old, inactive members. Especially those that never posted, or only posted once. I don't know how the forum works, in-depth, and am not sure if what I have suggested will help at all. Just thought of it, and figured voicing the idea couldnt hurt. Cheers!

Nope, I own the server and run the Forum from home. (And have a huge 60 Gb HD) so we're fine . Thanks for asking though.

The Bills are for Bandwidth, Pipe and IP. Plus tax and junk.

Now my TGEWEB website IS on a remote server, and I am limited to 1GB I believe, but that server is paid yearly April/May of every year, so we're fine there--unless I need another 500MB of space--which I am very close too.. ugh, I got some ideas to delete some old stuff anyway, so it should be cool. (I've been hosting loads of files on this server to alleviate that space limit) so linking from tgeweb to ironworksforum works for now.

That's cool Ziroc! I had no idea that our good ole forum is also supporting the Star Trek site! How big are our profiles, anyway, or whatever amount you store for each of us?

All right, cool man. I will continue to ponder on how we may save money, though!

Not sure how you feel about advertising, but these ads tend to be less intrusive then most(text ads I believe), and generally are related to the site they are on.

Z tried advertising with banners once. Not to many people clicked on them though, so I think he botched the idea.

I am indeed looking into the Google ad system, it does seem good. I also have 2 other ideas on the block to think through. I am also looking for sponsers.

10K members. I'm sure there are plenty of companies that would be willing to sponsor Ironworks Forum

And im sure that most of us will regulalry click on the adds if it helps, I mean, how much damage can it do to us???
Most of us have anti-spyware, and if not, we can get it quite easily.
Anyway just a thought, I would be happy to click links if it keeps us going.

Are those banners really that lucritive? I mean, if the 30 or so regulars to GD, clicked on one, once a day, how much money would that be?
