Why does the law not come into affect straight away?

Why does the law expire in 2009? what sort of rubbish is that?

In addition to the other products mentioned, a good on-line virus-scan from Trend Micro is another helpful, friendly, and free tool.

Pyro, I'm not sure why you don't like the spyware cleaners, but the ones mentioned here (AdAware and SPybot, to start) are very user-friendly and safe. I'd even let my mother run them... she of the eternally raised-from-the-dead internet jokes... [img]smile.gif[/img]

And Wellard, the reason for putting an expiration date into the law is so that it doesn't sit there long after its time. The legislature will review the law prior to its expiration and, if appropriate, extend it.

The internet is not going to be around after 2009? Seems like the politicians are just giving themselves work to do.

Oh well ..at least they have taken some action I guess.
