OK, time to lighten things up a bit …

The following quotes are taken from an Australian Consumer magazine, which has a section showing outrageous advertising claims and printing errors for various products.

All of these are genuine advertisements as published, nothing falsified.

I have removed the brand names to protect the guilty.
( and couldn't resist adding a few of my own comments )

Read and enjoy the unusual things you can buy down in the land down under.

-----------------------------------------------------

Electric toothbrush: "Plague Remover"
( Useful in case of biological attack, perhaps? )

Cleaning product: "Cleans and Kills Germs"
( Nothing worse than dirty dead germs )

Skylight: "Get the sun for free !! From only $329 fully installed"
( Sorry, don’t want a sun installed in my house.)

Butter Chicken: "Served with an erotically spiced tomato cream sauce"
( A new reason to eat TV dinners? )

Pita Bread: "Store at room temperature ( 221 Celsius )"
( Some houses BADLY need air-conditioning … )

Margarine Spread: "2 tubs for $1 - Limit of 1 per person"

Telescope: "View the solar system from a safe distance"
( Nah, I wanna do it at close range …)

Bottled Spring Water: "Original recipe"
( 2 of H and 1 of O ?? )

Shower Curtain: "No poison, tasteless"
( In what country in the world do they eat shower curtains? )

Clothes Pegs: "Not a toy - for apes 3 and up"

Instruction booklet for electronic spelling checker: "Owenr's Manual"

Sofa: "Simply oozes quality but it will sponge off"

Vacuum Cleaner: "Comes with 100 channel tuner and on screen display, and child lock"

Tanning salon: "Our sunbeds help relive the days stress and anxiety"
( Once was enough, thank you very much !! )

Toilet paper: "Disposable"
( Didn't know there was any other type ... )

Cordless drill: "Comes with 8 tongue settings"
( A new innovation for dentists that I do not want to see !! )

Floor mop: "Cleans all types of clean surfaces"

Hope you like these - if a get a favourable response I will post some more ….

OK, Drake, heres a few more ...

Another brand of spring water: "Crystal clear, natural and free from nuclear pollution"

Plastic garbage bin, pictured in the advertisment full of rubbish: "Accessories not included"

Bottle of whisky: "40% bottled in Scotland"
( Does this mean they part fill the bottle in Scotland, seal it, ship it to another country, open it up, and put the rest in ?? )

Bottle of fabric cleaner: "Price slashed, was $5.44, now $5.44 "
( Rush in for this bargain, folks ! )

CD travel case: "Unit automatically becomes portable when carried"
( ??? )

Butcher shop advertisment: "We specialize in spit hire and aged care"
( Not at the same time, I hope. )

Ad for Furbys: "6 fur colours and 4 eye patterns make each Furby unique"

Picture on a box of breakfast cereal, showing a surf lifesaver bursting out out of a bowl of milk and cereal: "Serving suggestion"
( Not likely !! )

Investment service: "5.25% interest for a 100 day deposit. $5000 Minimum interest paid at maturity"
( Can I invest $1 ? )

Enjoy ....
