although im not american, bush policy is very hypocritical in terms of its funding. trying to reduce the budget defeciet, it has started cost cutting severeal of its social and health policies by the millions while actually increasing its military by the billions...

I know. That's just the way it is and people can do nothing about it.
I really hope this will change soon. I doubt it tough.

People knew his plans before they voted, right? If they don't like what he is doing, then they'll vote against his party next time. It's all up to the voters. But it is their society to waste.

I have no problem with Bush cutting programs that have failed to do what they were created for. While he's at it, he can kill PBS, NPR, the NEA, and Amtrak as well. And he should also shut down the dept of education. Just take the money and send it directly to the states. That dept has done nothing but damage the educational system in this country.

PBS?! You can't kill that - from what (admittedly limited) American media I've seen, that ranks above them all in terms of objectivity and thoughtfulness.

Also I thought that it was funded by viewer donations? Does that simply top up money that the state gives?

It does rank above them all Shamrock - but what good neo-con wants something as namby pamby as a truthful objective media? What were you thinking? Just think of the possibilities for re-election if they could duplicate FOX another 5 or 6 times - misinformation on a grander scale.

I believe they are funded in part by viewer donations, and evil corporate donations, along with gov't funding.

Objective is in the eye of the beholder, one man's objective is anothers bias.
