Bohemian Rhapsody is a classic. I am glad that you appreciate it. While we are on Queen though, download Killer Queen, and Princes of the Universe(Highlander theme song). I would recomend downloading some Yngwie Malmsteen as well if you haven't heard of him. Great guitar player and usually very tight vocals. Alone in Paradise, Carry on my wayward son (Kansas Cover), and I am a Viking are some of my favorites.

4 smells like teen spirit by nirvana
5 Thriller By MJ
6 Purple Rain by Prince (a song i personally hate)
7 We are the World by various american singers
8 Sunday bloody Sunday

and the rest i lost (you didn't think i was putting down 2000 songs did you?)

Anybody wanna make their own top 10 list?

I'll do mine!
1. Stairway to Heaven - Led
2. One - Metallica
3. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
4. With or without you - U2
5. All by myself - Eric Carmen
6. Voodo child - Jimi Hendrix
7. How do I live - Trishia Yearwood
8. The House of the Rising Sun - The Animals
9. Can't help falling in love with you - Elvis the king
10. The Final Countdown - Europe
11. etc.

BTW Ertai: Nobody should go through their life without a bit of Queen! My advise to you is to buy their Greatest Hits I&II and go nuts!

Thanks for the tips Milamber, Ill try them. I have to download lotsa stuff that i want to try (nick cave, pink floyd, daft punk, led zeppelin...)

And about Queen i havent heard them so much. I have 2 songs from them (Bohemian Rhapsody and You Dont Fool Me) and i think both of them are great. Yes I know you dont fool me is a bit commercial, but anyway i think its a great song.

thanks !

Hi Vicotnik !!

Ah yes, good tip about the Animals !! the house of the rising sun is a good song (one of the firsts i learned when i started playing guitar )

My top ten would be (only one song from each artist) :

1- Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
2- The End - The Doors (oh hell i have to say this: Riders on the Storm should be here too)
3- Hotel California - The Eagles
4- Gloria - Patti Smith
5- Outlaw Torn - Metallica
6- Always - Bon Jovi
7- Polly - Nirvana
8- Europe - Santana
9- California Dreamin´ - The Mamas and the Papas
10- Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple

Well this is a top ten made in 2 minutes, to make it really good i should spend more time, but its almost ok i think. Anyway, note that i have forgot artists like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen etc that i like but i havent listened to them so much so i cant say which is their best song.

Nice to see Outlaw Torn there! A kickass song! Another one I absolutely love but think is underestimated because it is on Load is Bleeding me. The S&M version rocks bigtime!
But many people hate'em on the only basis that they are from the "load&reload" section. bummer.

Hey Vicotnik you are SO right !!

In fact, my favorite songs are these two (outlaw torn and bleeding me), but i didnt place them (or at least one of them) in the first place cause i wanted to talk about more universal, influent songs.

METALLICA FOREVER !!!

Right on! I don't care what people say about them selling out and shit, they've come a long way, gone through heaven and hell together and I respect them for that. Then their music, man oh man, I can listen to Kill 'em All one minute and go to Reload the next. I love to hear how their music has evolved and the more I listen to them the more I delve into their music and arrangements. For example I bought tab books for Ride and Black album even though I'm just a beginner on a guitar! I just love reading along and seeing what they've been thinking and what they put behind single riffs and things like that. Some of their best songs are just based on simple chord progressions, in fact the best music is often the simplest. I try to dig into Kirks solos and I think I know more licks on the guitar than on the violin! Which is kinda strange. Violin-10 years, guitar-1 year! I love the new solos as they sound a bit more than fancy triplet licks that were very dominant on their first albums, solos like on No Leaf Clover, Outlaw Torn and -Human are just great. Although their best solo is probably on One, or the end feel in Fade to Black. The one riff I love the most with them is in the beginning of Enter Sandman, simplicity itself but fu*king spectacular!
Wow, that got long!
