Stuck in Unseeing Eye Quest

I can't get out of the pit in which I have defeated the unseeing eye beholder with the rift device. When I try to go back up the way I came it says it is too steep to get out, and as far as I know the only other way out is a secret door and I can't get to open, I have heard something about a key that Gaal is supposed to have given me when I talked to him, but he didn't, Please help, I'm pulling my hair out over this!

First, you probably alreadyhave the key, or you wouldnt be this far in the quest... [img]tongue.gif[/img]
Now, while in the pit, you can get out by another exit. Go as long south as you can come, and follow the south wall against the middle of the wall, and you should find the exit.

Hmmmmmm, the stairwell leading out is somewhat in the middle of the very South end of the map. Is this the spot you've tried to exit through and can't?

The secret door opens automatically. Jiggle with it and wait for a while. The door cannot be lockpicked or knocked. Just wait.

Yes, that is the door I've been trying. On the map of the Beholder's pit, the exit is marked as "to upper reaches". I have tried lock picking, spells, and jiggling it over and over, but it won't open. Seeing as it is the only way out, what did I do wrong?

Hmmmmm....

I think if you position your cursor correctly you should see the "stair icon". Also, are all your party members selected? Sometimes you can't exit a location if they're not all selected and close together.

I can get up the stairs, I just cant't get through the door!
This is driving me crazy, please don't tell me that I have to start over again because I've got myself trapped in the pit!!

Puzzling....I forget whether I needed Jan (thief) to lockpick or a mage with the "knock" spell to open the door.

Just wait. Jiggle the door( aka click on it), and wait for a while.

It may take about 10-15 seconds, but the door will eventually open of its' own accord. Do not repeatedly click on it.

Hmm, you can also just try to download the official patch from BioWare, in case it is a bug. I dont recall the URL from the top of my head, but Dundee probably knows.
