Oh yes, my ninja disclosed that he was formerly a member of Lord Cet's secret intelligence service, my warlock finally admitted that she had a soft spot for strawberries, my zenmaster ultimately broke down and declared that he had once been a senior member of the environmentalist organization called the People's Front of Gael Serran and had participated in several raids against the snake cult to save their monkeys. He had also started a programme for saving the worgurs. My bard admitted that he could not distinguish a minim from a semiquaver and that he always played by ear. My valkyrie eventually admitted her family secret: That she had a half-brother who was working in a light job as second assistant to Galliwag, the bartender in Valeia, and was once caught falsifying the ledger. Last but not least my dwarf barbarian disclosed his sexual fantasies.

Now Macoati has also had one of the missing traits. That now makes three. It seems there should be a possibility of finding at least some... That is a good sign.

No it did not write it down in the column. I just made it up... Or did I hear it coming out of the loudspeakers?.. Or did the characters show up on screen, smoke signalling it to me?.. I cannot remember. Not that I am crazy, mind you... At least that is what most of the voices inside my head tell me.

I have not been posting much on this subject lately since work has prevented me from playing the game for some time.
As we all know the missing traits may very well have "slipped" through holes in the programming as Mr. Alz indicated to me in his e-mail. Long ago I tried tampering with my characters' statistics by cheating. In this way I managed to raise the fortitude, dexterity, etc. of my characters to several thousands. Back then I was not hunting for the missing traits, and so I did not think further about the possibilities presented by this method. I thought that perhaps if one raised one's guild level standings above 7 that might perhaps yield the chance to train a trait which was not otherwise eligible as a result of a flaw in the programming.

By the way my valkyrie is about to reach the level where she can train her high level trait. So I will soon be able to confirm whether that is the divine aura trait or the soul bane trait.

Since there are some traits that only a vampire character can gain I was wondering if there were some traits that only a boogre character would be eligible for. So I have thought about creating a party consisting of as many races and roles as possible, having them become boogres, and then reverting the game to complete it a couple of times visiting every possible place and following every possible lead with the boogre party. This will take some time to undertake, and I would like to hear the opinions from you fine ladies and gentlemen of the forum before I try it. Do you think it is worth the time, and how far have you tried it yourselves?

Well I have, perhaps the only one still here who has, finished the game with a boogre party. As far as I can tell there are no advantages when it comes to traits. Of course I didn´t scour the Serran in search of traits. It would also be interesting to try high level classes. Enlightenment requires a level 18 zenmaster. What advantages do a 18 level ranger get? Or a warrior? Hsa anyone played an original class to a very high level before changing? Anyways, go for it.

finishing wif a boogre party?! now THAT'S quite an achievement....ok maybe not that big but it's quite challenging coz of the chance of failing to cast spells and the slow attack speed, right willow?
hmm, i tink i'm trying to get my warlock to lvl 20 to get as many spells as possible, but it's not an original class so i dun tink it matters !

All right... *takes a deep breath* ...here we go again.

Just a quick look through the Wizards and Warriors Archives revealed these few interesting posts (1), (2) detailing such interesting traits as "bloodrealm", "faery wings", and "toad speak". I have a distinct impression - and this is not meant as a criticism of or condescension towards anyone - that a lot of discussions on this forum concerning the traits have been misdirected because not everyone has used the same name about the same trait.

Even so, there are so many posts where people seem so sure of what they are posting that I have almost reason to believe that there might be differences between the different versions of the game when it comes to traits.

Any views on this?

I think you're right, bsftcs. We don't always remember the names of things precisely and can come up with something close to whatever term we are looking for.
Now some of the searches for traits have been done making use of the list provided in the Tome Of Misinformation. Checking it just now, there is no listing for Faery Wing or anything of that kind that I can see. Nor is there a listing for Bloodrealm, though there is one for Bloodscent. Toad speak was probably just a joke from when FreudianSlip and others were doing a lot of "toad speak" on the board!

Anyway! Felix recently made a list of some pretty valuable items found throughout the Gael Serran. That made me think. People around here have much praise for the wizard's blade and the robinsword. (I believe that is what they are called). I have never encountered these (sic!). Knowing that the dragon fire trait comes from invoking the heart of the dragon amulet which I have found to be a random encounter and not just found in Skull Castle as stated by Sazerac, I think that perhaps some of the traits come from invokable items which are hard to come by. (So far as I know the lance of the lady only appears when one has a valkyrie in the party, etc.). Any observations of this?
