Yeah, you would think you would get some really cool quests. Clean out the home of Saerk(??) in the Bridge District with no violence, for instance. Now THAT's a thief's challenge!

As far as the mage stronghold goes, I too was expecting something totally different. They can do a tower, for Christ's sake!! There was a great one in BGI, right next to the Ducal Palace!

And all areas in the Mage-hold is party-required. I must walk araound with five big brutes and my very intelligent wizard when I want to se if it was a fire- or icearrow I stored in THAT container.
