Namarra is an excellent long sword. +4 damage is respectable to say the least, and its Silence ability is actually quite good - it gives a "hidden" -4 penalty to the save!

As for Axes, the best ones in SoA are probably Frostreaver +3 and Stonefire +3, if melee is what you're after. There are also some decent Throwing Axes - Rifthome comes to mind.

Azuredge (+3, undead slaying) is the returning throwing axe that only good characters can use. However, Rifthome is also a +3 returning throwing axe, and has no alignment restriction. No undead slaying though.

Although if you're Evil or Neutral, you have to roleplay Evil if you want to get a +3 Throwing Axe. Otherwise, you have to be content with +2.

Other good Long Swords include Adjatha the Drinker, the Flame Tongue and Daystar.

Other good Axes include Frostreaver. (Pity that the Stonefire axe doesn't glow red, because that would look SO pretty when Dual-wielded with Frostreaver! )

Also Equalizer if you're strength is high, and Blackrazor if you have ToB.

Oh, you and Equalizer! Give me Lilarcor any day. I left out the ToB weapons as this is the SoA forum--and besides, in ToB, *all* of the weapon categories kick ass (except Clubs and Wakizashi/Ninja-to).

Wakizashi/Ninja-to is also the Scimitar catagory, and maybe I'm just getting confuzzled cause I have item upgrades mod, but there are some pretty decent scimitars out there. also with the item upgrade mod, you can forge some kick-ass clubs as well (if you're that way inclined, sounds too druidy for my liking though)

I would choose Daystar if you're after a good longsword that is attainable early in the game. If you can beat a lich (and maybe a gated Pit Fiend) then you can get the sword. It's potent too.
