I too have Maximum PC on tap, and I have yet to upload the demo for Titan Quest. Should I? Is it worth it? I've seen the guidebook already, and I have to say it's not a small thing to look into...

haven't played tightass quest ... played the demo, but it was so choppy and lagggy. Even on a P4 3.6Ghz 2gig ram!

Read the reviews, and yep, the full game is choppy on awesome machines too. (Another game with Shitty programming)

Maybe in the bargin bin I'll get it, if they patch it

The game looks great, especially if you have a good PC.
There are plenty of quests and things to do, its easy to learn and master.

And yet, the game is still one of the worst clones I have ever played

I would strongly recommend that everyone avoid this game.

I loaded the demo and it ran fine. ( AMD 3.4 1 gig ram). It was enjoyabel, but I think I'll wait for a bargin bin as well. For my money I'll wait for Sacred 2.

I have the real game. The game really isn't optimized. The demo ran fine, but not the real game, for some reason. I can play Oblivion just fine with what I consider high graphics, but my computer is straining with this game. Some places, like crypts, the fps drop in the one digit for a couple of seconds. They did say they're working on it in the next patches.

Personally what annoy me more is that the game is not compatible with anything using the ac97(?) sound drivers, and apparently that's me, because I was crashing all the time from trying to load my game to walking to teleporting to fighting. Removing the sound folder fixed the problem. Again thy are saying they are working on a patch.

But the gameplay is fun. I've been playing some 3-4 hours sessions and I'm maybe 16 hours or so in, and I'm enjoying it. I made a Nature mage, but I'm thinking of trying a spirit one too, they look nice. I'm also thinking of trying a warfare character like I did in the demo.

I did have one problem trying to use a "special power" the one where you ( I presume you are to target the creature) it never seemed to work. I'll still wait for the bargain bin.

I've played the demo, and it was pretty fun. My brother played through the entire game from start to finish last week lol. Yep, it's basically a clone, but it's superior to its predecessor. It's at least pleasant to look at.

I have a rule about hack and slash RPG's anyway...I don't pay full price for 'em

As far as derivative action rpgs go, I think I'll stick to Sacred Gold for the time being.
I picked it up for $9.95 over the weekend, having already finished Sacred+ a couple of times. It should at least provide some decent multiplayer sessions with my brother.

The mythological references in Titan Quest vaguely interest me, but its nothing I'll go out of my way to play.
