Has anyone come accross a use for the Rat Skull I found early on and which has sat in my pack for the last 2 dungeons?.

It makes a nice paper weight.

We've had other threads discussing various uses for the Rat Skull but within the game there are none. I like to carry it anyways.

It's believed to be a leftover from a quest that didn't make it into the final game. Perhaps something to bring back to Bilbump...

But as Wyv said, it does nothing now except to occupy an inventory slot.

I remeber when I browsed through the best tip thread once in my early days. Wyv posted a list of things to keep and the rat skull was in the list lol. Did I panic then ...

It isn't used for anything. It "may" have had a purpose in the original game design but a lot of things got cut out in order to get the game to market faster (development $ was running low).

Willow - I'll have to check that list. Doesn't sound like something I posted but it certainly shouldn't advise keeping the rat skull.

As I thought!

It was in a Saz post (page 4) on items needed in more than one dungeon, and I quote:

"The Rat Skull (obtained in the Crypt, needed to be buried in the Pile of Sand outside the Anephas Shrine ) (okay, just kidding on that one!)"

Yes thatīs the one Wyv. I really thought it was you who posted that one, sorry about that . Did you remove it? Itīs quite funny actually. First the shock you get from seeing that the rat skull is essential, then the relief as you see itīs a joke

I left it!

Thought it was probably a Saz post simply on the basis that you said it was a list of needed items. Saz is helpful with that sort of list. I totally forgot about the joke about the Rat Skull! I think it is obvious enough that no one will be confused.
