Coulda fooled me. They are made of titanium alloy. If titanium alloy can't withstand a hurricane, then I've lost all faith in this world.

I think the main problem would be the shuttle being blown around by the high winds... But really, it's true that titanium isn't *that* strong. Its main draw is that it's quite strong compared to its weight, but overall you can get steel to be harder iirc. Either wouldn't do well against some of the stuff that might hit it during a hurricane, though, I think.

Hmm, SM, ever hear of "rather being safe than sorry?" With billions of dollars invested in a rocket, I would hope and think they would want the most favorable conditions, wouldn't you?

My point, folks was the wording on the headline. Headline writers/editors come up with some weird and funny combination of words. While the actual story may be serious, bazaar or even tragic the headlines can be better that some comics material.
