Don't worry, I'm not the one who's got an injured eye, it's my cousin, some idiot who got drunk at a party lashed out with his arm and hit my cousin in his left eye, one of the moron's nails must have scratched my cousin's eye because he can hardly see with it anymore and if he looks at anything as bright as daylight or brighter with it, it hurts like hell, what can be done about such injuries?

Firstly, I'm not in the medical profession.

I do think that it sounds as though your cousin has a scratched cornea - and MUST get medical treatment immediately - if left untreated it could permanently affect their sight, and could get infected. It will probably have to be covered to protect it from bright light and dust, and some sort of treatment in the form of drops for at least a few days I would imagine.

Sight is precious - please tell him to see an optician urgently (ie today), or go to the emergency room - if it is swollen and red it sounds like an emergency to me.

Or he could wear a patch . Very distinguished.

Seriously, get him to a doctor or eye specialist immediately. The eyes are not something to be played with.

At the risk of stating the obvious, get him to a hospital - not many qualified doctors here

I agree with the ladies - get him to a doctor immediately - my mother had a similar injury once and got prescriptions for a kind of ointment to put in her eye...

*sigh* He's stubborn, he won't wear an eye-patch, even though I offered to make him a pegleg as well and buy him a parrot for his shoulder .

He's going to see the doctor tomorrow, it looks pretty bad, part of his left eye is REALLY red.
