I think it's funny how England shrugs off all association with Europe except when it comes to football and there being a fancy cup to win.

Hmm I agree that Rooney is already overrated. SO he's scored 4 good goals? It doesn't make him man of the match in those games and certainly doesn't make him the best player in Europe. Have they suddenly forgotten about Zidane, Henry, Figo, Beckham etc.?

I watched all the England games and didn't really see Rooney do any more than the most players except for scoring the goals.

He COULD become of of Europe's greatest players, but it's too soon to go there yet. They're putting a lot of pressure on his VERY young shoulders, saviour of England and all.... If i were Ericsson, i kept things as quiet as possible around him. I recall a similar hype around Paul Gascoigne, and he ended up like Bozo the Clown.

What the hell do you mean "when's the World Cup"???? Its name kinda gives it away: Germany 2006

Anyway, the first European qualifying matches start in the middle of this August. The other continents have already started their qualifying matches. All details on the link below.

Here are the groups for European qualifying:

Sorry for being dumb with this one... but hey! I live far away from the action...

Lazy to do my own research especially since my internet's... lame to say the least plus school, plus getting info on football is going way out of the way because it is not really a popular sport around here... need I mention this again??

Oh and thanks

EDIT: oh yeah.. World Cup. I reckon 98%, if not 99% of the entire Philippine population doesn't know what that means.

Wow, serious? Sorry mate, didn't realise it wasn't well known over there. You are therefore excused for not knowing. Hope you find that link useful - I did, it's got EVERYTHING you could possibly want to know about the next world cup. It's not a popular sport there, but you like it right??

Save some of the soccer sympathy for us in Canuckland. One of the reasons we take hockey so seriously is because we cannot win at what the world calls football. Currently ranked 90+, only qualified for the World Cup once (in the eighties) where we didn't score a goal. Boo-hoo-hoo. On the plus side, we did win the CONCACAF tournament a few years ago (by some miracle). Our best player (Owen Hargraves) plays for England! I don't blame him. Tomas Radzinski alone cannot lead us to the promised land.

At least the women's team is successful, and displays a high level of skill.

Half time results are:

Sweden - Denmark = 0:1 (Tomasson with a spectacular lob)
Italy - Blugaria = 0:1 (martinov by penalty)
