This game is a dissapointment in terms of playtesting. If this is any indication of obsidian software's ability, then perhaps the torch hasn't been passed on as well as we would like to think.

Yea that was an annoying bug, I ended up having to backtrack and redo the entire Nar Shaddaa planet (and the Sith planet too because I left in hopes that going and coming would trigger the next event). Lost hours of gameplay.
I still love the game tho. |

I'm still waiting for the patch before I start playing KOTOR 2 to avoid bugs like these.

It's not so much the bugs that irk me, as the incompleteness of the game. So much stuff was left out, just so they could release it for Christmas on X-Box. Like wtf?
Talk about mondo stupido decision making.

I suspect that decision for release was out of Obsidian's hands - that's because of LucasArts, I would say. A decision made on economics!
Anyway, does anyone know when you start getting some decent armour? I've finished Korriban (done all the planets, just going back to Onderon now) but the best I've found for my Jedi is a Jedi Knight Robe. Is there anything better? Also, did anyone manage to convert ALL their NPCs to Jedi in a single game (the ones that CAN be turned, that is). So far I've gotten Atton and Disciple, but that's it. I've been trying with Bao Dur but to no avail. Mira I just haven't had opportunities to take her along with me, I reckon she's a bit of a wuss... |

Jedi Armor: Depends if you want Robes or actual Armor. Most of the actual Jedi armor (non force-restricting) in the game sucks assmunch. There is some Zeison Sha Warrior Armor somewhere (may not be a 100% drop) that gives the best combination of defense / dex bonuses and upgrades that I've found anywhere.
There is also the Ossus Keeper Robe which you will pick up very shortly upon returning to Onderon (search every goddamn container you find, do not skip a single one. You can find some VERY awesome shiet). The Keeper Robe gives +4 Wis, and I think maybe +4 Cha, I don't remember. Personally I'd take the Keeper Robe because 1 or 2 def points won't really make a difference at the end of the game, while having a pile more CHA and WIS will. Bao-Dur: You have to have him IN your party to gain anything resembling influence from him. Mostly happens when you come across technical problems (Dantooine w/ Atmospheric Sensors and Nar Shaddaa w/ Bike). I haven't personally done anything with Mira yet, seeing as how I just gimped up my game AGAIN by not making Disciple use Lightsabre(s).

I was able to turn mira, you just have to talk to her a lot to turn her to a jedi. As far as the robes go, I wore them almost the entire game, only putting on some armor at the end with energy resist. I found the + to stats were well worth it, I ended the game with 30 some odd strength I usually put strengthening underlays in, and maybe a dmg resist if i could. I never got a chance to turn bao dur, and i was just short of influence with atton to turn him i think. I never took Kreia anywhere, as she would pipe up if needed regardless.

Yes, in both my games I turned all my possible npcs to Jedis.
I also get max influence with Keira without taking dark side points. It's possible, just hard. Yes, to turn a character to the dark side you need to gain positive influence, that mean if he's a good character you most often have to take light side choices. I lost about 30% of my dark side mastery when I converted Handmaiden, but it was worth it, she look way better in black. But you don't have to make everyone the same aligment as you. The game in unfinished anyeay. You'll turn one of then to max dark side, and the first time they see you do something evil they'll complain and get negative influence. It's better to just play your aligment and let them react as they want. Your evil characters will approve and become maxed dark side, the good ones will complain and become maxed light side. You'll get access to all powers. |

Been busy playing KOTOR 2 for the past couple of week and finally finished my first round with a male light Guardian/Weapon Master.
Some thought: 1. Wow, the Jedi/Sith class kickass big time. With a focus on STR, my dual wielding Jedi have a 40++ to hit on each hand. 2. Storyline is not as good as the first one. The ending is kind of sloppy which means there would be either a) expansion or b) KOTOR 3 to be announced later. 3. Some NPC are not as useful as before. Mira and GOTO are good example of not-so-useful characters. 4. More female NPCs, and some are rather good. For example Handmaiden and Visas. But the romance part not fully developed or I missed the trigger for the romance. I did manage to get Visas to fall for my male Jedi but never did manage to get Handmaiden. It would be fun to get BOTH of them to fall in love for my male Jedi. 5. The influence thingy is nicely done. I managed to covert MOST of my party members to the light side except GOTO, Keira and HK-47. 6. HK-47 is not as useful as before and the humor has cleary worn out due to the many "clones" you get to meet and fight. 7. Never did managed to get any of the party member to gain light mastery. I wonder if it is possible to do so... 8. Kiera is an old lying manipulative hag. Should have given a chance to strike her down sooner. 9. Darth Sion and Darth Nihilous are bunch of over-bloated wuss... too easy to strike down. None of them even bother to zap me with force lightning thingy. 10. The void in the force storyline is kind of weak, but at least the reference to KOTOR 1 is nicely done. 11. Many bugs and exploits. Some quests are listed as active because I didn't complete them in sequence or I have accidently re-activate them by talking to certain NPCs. 12. Plenty of toys to play with. This is fun. Weeeeeee! 13. Did you know that Mandalore is Canderous(?)? If not, then you should have paid more attention to Kiera before finishing her off. 14. After all these years, Bastila still look better comparing to Handmaiden. Revan (he) must be crazy to leave her alone. But then, Jedis are a weird bunch of people, aren't they? 15. Dark side actions and dialogue options still feel kind of "dumb". Never tempted to play as a dark sider. Maybe it is just me. 16. Never used combat / force stand extensively. The NPC combat behavior is a nice touch however. At least now my range specialist doesn't charge into the fray and attack enemies at point blank with a blaster. That's all for the time being. I am playing as a light male Sentinel in my second game.
