If I want to exchange Xzar for Xan, or Montaron for Minsc, does my leader need alot of charisma to recruit characters??....because i cant get those guys, they just talk briefly and walk away.

Im'e not sure, thats a good question. I have not had problems getting either one of those characters, but I was cheating and 20 across the stat board, so I cant compare, although charisma can affect your dealings with NPCs so you could have a good point.

I think your parties reputation may be the problem. If you have an evil (low) reputation then good characters may not want to join. Charisma may have some effect too. I allways have a reputation above 15 or so and when I talk to Minsc I either have to let him join or kill him.
