Saz, cooking tip for your auntie : when you make a cake with raisins in it, if you don't want them to all go to the bottom of the cake, have the raisins soak in rhum one full night before making the cake. In addition to actually working, that gives a *yum* taste to the cake ...

What's wrong with raisins ? Aside from the fact that what we call 'raisin' you call 'grape' and what you call 'raisin' we call -er, dried raisin ? [img]smile.gif[/img]

OOOh Moiraine, that is the way I used to bake fruitcake - the longer you soak the raisins the better it gets!

However I would offer you my support in the rebellion of raisins. Lets look at a couple of downfalls of them

[*]1. When infants eat them, they look new and hydrated when they come back out.[*]2. They are left over grape juice squeezings.[*]3. They beg cereal companys to take them when they are ancient.
I say feed the raisins to the birds. Just not the nuts .

Hiya!

Raisins and Almonds are a really good snack. Aww, I like raisins, but a little high in the sugar department for us carb sensitive types!

Hmm, maybe Barbarians just don't like raisins. [img]smile.gif[/img]
