I don't go out of my way to swat children on the internet. . Please stop spoiling Spelca's thread. If you have nothing to add to the discussion then say nothing.

My original post (except the last paragraph) was no more subjective or innacurate than the drivel you wrote about net curtains and carpets in the bathroom.

I like the way you pretend to be above juvenile arguments, but then accompany it with an insult. If you want to stop pointlessly bickering, do it. Claiming you are above it and then continuing just serves to demonstrate what a complete cretin you are.

Calm down guys. Speclas boyfriend certainly can't write this in his paper. I think you guys should take this to pm before one/both of you get words from the mods. This is about houses, not cretin's. Dirty Meg, I think you should edit that last post, before it leads to further trouble.

I do not know about the British, but there are alot of houses here that have carpeting in the bathroom, and netting in the windows, not just to protect against possible unwanted pest, but because netting is a good shear to use, and has a a good function to go with the look. where as a house made out of cats stacked up is not even a real building.

Wot Donut said (all of it!)

Although it's difficult to generalise, because as with most countries different people prefer different styles, so there is quite a variety of interior design and furniture around.

Most people generally have carpeted floors and curtains, although wooden flooring and blinds at the windows are now seen as quite modern and are therefore popular with some people.

Is it possible for your boyfriend to get hold of any British magazines on interior design? There are a wide range to choose from, ranging from old fashioned farmhouse type style to modern 'loft apartment' minimalism.

You may find this site useful - it's the website of the Geffrye Museum which is dedicated to British homes and interiors through the ages, from medieval through to the 21st century...
Meg if you are drunk as Davros suggests, be careful not to fall down the steps of your trailer. And remember it's illegal for a juvenile to drink alchohol.

Oh just drop it guys, honestly, a fight is breaking out over british home interior and design. If insults are going to be thrown, this thread will be locked up so a lot of help won't be lent to Spelca.

I have to get back to class, my 2 cents.

Wrong again. You are very proud of your ignorance. Have another drink.

Of course I only live here.

I live in a semi-detached house in the good ol' North East of England. I'm not sure about Swedish homes, but many English homes (obviously flats don't either) don't have basements. Carpetting is in all rooms in my house except the kitchen, living room and bathroom, which have wooden floor. My family are funding IKEA, most of our furniture is from there .
Not as many ornaments in my house, parent's aren't the ornament type. In the living room (aka front room, aka room with big TV ) there are quite a few pictures of family and a few others. No plants because my dog eats then or uses them as the toilet, so thats a no.
Like I said IKEA is a big place to buy furniture for us, but also local shops which specialise in types, mostly beds, is where my family sometimes goes to buy furniture. Since we got our house redecorated (room by room, typical my bedroom was second last!) my room and the kitchen hasn't got curtains, but blinds instead. Lighting is from "the big light" on the ceiling in the centre of the room, but most rooms have standing lamps in the corners, or smaller lamps on tables

This may be different to some people's houses, it's just what my house is like
