you dont nesseccary have to understand something to believe in it... its almost insulting to say you understand and believe in God. I dont believe *any* mortal could truly understand God. nor do I beleive its nessacarry. but that doesnt mean you shouldnt think about things, lest you turn into a 'sheep' or a 'zombie'...

My favourite author, Michael Moorcock, has the philosophy in his books about Chaos and Law and the striving of Balance between the two.

Without Chaos, Law would stagnate(sp), and without Law, Chaos would be a constantly changing formless mess.

Think about it, with out Greed, or ambition, we would all be working at McDonald's for minimum wage.

Without Courage no one would have started a McDonald's.

As much as I want to believe that there is a god, I still really think that God, Satan and other Christian beliefs were made up by men to rule others.

Take a look at Greek/Roman beliefs before christianity. The sun was Apollo racing across the sky in a chariot. Lightening was created by Zeus. Athena was the goddess of war, same as Ares..Bachhus, the god of wine..etc. There was a god for everything. That is how they explained things. How their minds, at that time, could comprehend things that were going on in the world.

Basically we do the same. Man kills another man, Satan made him do it. Why are we here? God made us.

Our minds NEED to know that there is another purpose for us being alive than what is most likely true: We are a fluke. A freak of nature. IMHO.

well b4 i go, i rilly do need to clarify this... its my "ahem" my fault in typing "understanding" in this sentence
Quote:
it something you just HAVE To believe in while accepting and understanding it.
i agree that typing down understanding is my fault for i believe "if you truly understand God, then you must be a God, for it only a God that can truly understand God" ... i meant that you must be in your logical mind and heart to accept that kind of religion without going into fanaticism (i do hope you understand what i mean... its kinda hard to explain... )

That's acute comment but it borders on the obtuse. It is a normal reflex after all.

I believe that He(God) sent Lucifer down to Hell where he became Satan because Lucifer thought he was better then God.So he gathered a group of angels that were on his side and they started a war.Of course,God won and Lucifer and his angels were sent to Hell, where Lucifer became Satan, and his angels became demons. That's how I see it.
No, it's okay but you could look at it from the alternate, adjacent or corresponding viewpoint. Try looking at my post form a different (what's the word I'm looking for?).
