Oh. Em. Gee.

Went to the midnight showing of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe last night. I've been waiting for this movie for about 14 years.

I'm usually EXTREMELY critical of movies made out of books I enjoy (Harry Potter comes to mind; I made fun of the flying dementors and things like that). But this is the harshest thing I have to say about this movie: "I thought the White Witch would have black hair, but it looks fine the way it is, actually." It was cinematically breathtaking and fairly true to the book. To say I enjoyed it would be an understatement; I'm going to see it again tomorrow with different people.

Anyone else see it? Thoughts?

Spoilers - just on the offchance you've never read the book.

I read a review this morning that said they toned
down Aslan's death to the point that it wasn't even that emotional anymore. Any truth in that?

I shall be seeing it in the next week

I am getting ready to pick my tickets up online right now. I am just waiting for the screen to load. They must be getting hit with loads of traffic.

Oops...nope...All sold out for tonight.

It was hard to do that part for a PG movie. That's a REALLY dark part of the book... So it was severely toned down, yes, but it was still pretty damn emotional.

Unfortunately yes.

Naturally, my theater didn't get Narnia so I'm going to have to pay or wait 2-3 months to see it for free. Or drive for 40 minutes. Worth the $12?

</font>
It wasn't very dodgy at all, in my opinion. I normally have an extremely critical eye that's impossible to turn off when I watch movies, but I found it all extremely well-done and believable... It was worth my $12, and I see maybe three movies a year in theatres.

ach, i just thought it was shabby but everyone i went to see it with loved it so im in the minority , probably as a result of being in way to cynical a humour.

I am wanting to see this in a bad way. Not to sure if it is worth getting a baby sitter and paying about 4000$ dollars to go and see it at the movie theater. I say 4000 Because Sir G demands a tip when I see him.
