Epona please call me Dublin, Dub or DG for short. There is humour in my name but I don't think you are daft not to spot it.

DG it is then

Welcome to the board! I think this is a pretty unique place, so much so that we all become addicted sooner or later!!! (Why do I feel I have to finish every sentence with an exclamation mark?!!! It must be very irritating!!!!!!)

Thank you, Yorick, thank you for sharing this wonder. I read your thread Monday morning, and then I had the immense luck to discover the same day that a group of four Mongolian throat singers would came here for an unique concert the next Thursday. Such a coincidence ...

Incredible! I missed your earlier post (don't know how) I'm so glad. 'Tis amazing indeed. I'm glad you enjoyed!

"No. It can't be played"

Yes, it was an amazing coincidence ! I read the initial post of your thread last Monday morning, and the same day at lunch, I discover in a newspaper that there is actually one and only one concert of Monglian throat singing in Grenoble the next Thursday !

The group in concert was Huun Huur Tu - have you heard of them ?

Here are some links I have found about them :

http://www.furious.com/perfect/tuva.html (Review, discography)
http://www.huunhuurtu.com/ (Their site - possibility of downloading songs)

The movie 'Kundun' about the Dali Lama (not to be confused with 'Seven Years In The Movies' - I mean Tibet) Has a fantastic score by John Cage that includes Tibetian Throat Singing! Awesome movie too.

Is that in video yet? Or only in theaters? Living in the middle of nowhere it's much easier to get a video than to see it in the local movie theater which only brings teen horror, crime dramas or the occasional academy award winning film ~ after it's won. It sounds like a good one tho. Thanks for the 'heads-up'.
