I think LadZekke was having the bugs visit too! I can imagine it's not much fun having them all over the yard when you leave your house! And I haven't heard them, but I'm told they get loud!

LOL!

Mayor: Why aren't the cicadas all gone?

Police chief: They haven't finished their... uh... duty.

Mayor: Why? What's the problem?

Chief: Well, it's RevRuby's kids... they're making so much noise that the cicadas can't hear each other to try to mate, so they keep running in circles...

No offense intended, RR, but I've got kids too... and it could happen

Actually, my area was supposed to have a Lot show up, but there are none here.

(See what you can accomplish with a little sugar, lots of tiny pictures of pecan pie, and free bus tickets to Kentucky?)

When I lived in New Jersey, it was cicadas. Now that I live in San Antonio, it is crickets. The Pizza Hut by the house has bright lights, so they gather there; it looks like a sea of black with all of the crickets (one big mating orgy). I hate both of them equally, but cicadas edge out the crickets. In New Jersey I didn't have AC, so I would have the windows open and be unable to sleep from all of the noise.

that is why I hate the crickets, all I can hear is the high pitched chirping they do all spring and summer, they do make good bait though, love to catch them, and hook them

heh, since I live pretty far up north... as far as you can get... actually, the only loud animal around here are my neighbors cats... I swear I sometimes wake up at night and it sounds like someone is tearing the balls off Satan in a megaphone-factory...
