I downloaded this module, but it won't load, saying I am missing a hak.file. I sent the music hak. to the music folder. What am I doing wrong? Oh, yes, the Readme won't work for me, either. Help!

What's the modules name? You just provided a link to download the doc. file. My Wordpad doesn't work correctly either so I can't use it.

Anything ending with .hak needs to go into the /hak directory.

It's called "Aribeth's Revival."

Yes, I managed to find it on NWVault, but as Legolas pointed out all hak. files goes into the Hak. folder.

I know, but what's wrong with everyones Wordpad? There's an error message every time I open the program.

I compressed the hak. file, and it shows up in my hak. folder, but still won't run.

Don't you need to have a copy of the modified music 2da souirce since it's a custom music hak? If you are running SOU you need to download this source file...This may not help at all as I have only experience making my own music haks and have yet to play a module with custom music.

Also he says this in the document: File Package #3…the AOL, WintyrKnight links…this module is lacking one bmu music file for those who don’t want to download the larger music files…it is otherwise the same.
I’m thinking about phasing out these links…unless requested.

From the point where you've just completed the download.
Unzip the whole package (or extract the files one at a time)

In random order;
Bring the two .bmu files to the music folder
Move the two .hak files to the hak folder (sounds.hak and AribethMod.hak)
Place the .bik file in the movies folder
Store the .doc files in the docs folder (optional)
Put the .mod file in the modules folder

Then just start NWN and begin playing. Worked for me.

EDIT: About the modified .2da file, I believe that one is included in the .hak file and will automatically be used in stead of the standard .2da file for those modules using the aforementioned hak only.

I just got the mod to work perfectly, first time. Extraction was as Legolas detailed. If your readme isnt working you might have a corrupted download, so if you do everything right and it still dosent work re-downloading it might work.
