Here is one Kukri render I'll show ya. Looked a bit modern with the stains though. but that was also done in ancient times with acid etching.

The nook at the base of the Kukri signifies potency in the Indian cultures.
(Learned all about each weapon to remaster each for NWN). I like to know the histories on what I make. fun!

See, NWN has ONE model for the Kukri. And I know why. The basic shape doesn't change. BUT, there are different lengths, and other changes that can be made. So I added a few variations. Hope you'll like them in-game.

Looks absolutely wonderful.
Can't wait to see them inside the game!
Will we be able to add different effects to the new blades? (e.g. sonic, bleeding, acid, cool little sparkly thingies)

Oh, speaking of kukri, did you mind if I did up a few potential kukri as well? Decided to hold off on those until I had a chance to ask you.

Once again, I like the look of that kukri. I wish that the toolset didn't limit the colour of blades to only four of them. Kind of depressing really.

Dace, you like making weaponmasters for anything that can be mastered. *grins at him* I am still waiting to see a warhammer/kukri dual weapon wielding fiendslayer build from ya. *laughs and grins more*

yeh, all the normal effects

I can bypass the normal colors with my own textures though--I will make some red, some flat black colors and some brushed steel versions.

The dual wield weapon master has been done. I did one with Scimmys/kukris. Weapon of choice/dev crit in both, and I'll never do that build again. Takes away too much from the overall build, that you could dump into a single weapon, or overall combat ability. Not to say she isn't effective, but...She could have been a lot better.
The kukri is nice, and some of the ones I've seen locally are quite large, actually, nearly 3 feet/1 meter long.

Z, can you modify that kama to +10 please mate, I would ask, only I'm a git for AB.

+9 is more than suitable though thanks

The current character has 8 attacks a round, +60, +60, +57, +57 etc and is pretty good, wouldn't mind a couple extra on top of that though

Ta x

*snickers*

Dace, you buttermint. *cackles*

There's probably even better ones in the pipeline. Besides, you don't really NEED that extra +2 bonus, you merely WANT that extra +2 bonus. I figure it could be worked in if we dropped 2 points worth of damage of the new kamas. Have to go into work tomorrow morning for a bit, but when I get back I may need to borrow a character of yours that has the best kukri in the game currently. Or if you have time to find them, if you could post me the special properties on the Kukri Of The Master and Pharaun's Kukri Of Chopsocky Goodness (not the real name but I SHOULD make a weapon with that name) on the dream weapons thread? IT would be really, REALLY appreciated.

Ziroc,

on the topic of the new kukri models, how hard is it to reskin the various kukri blades for colour? (Same questions for the handles of said kukri.) As well, how many variations of the kukri models can you have before the game engine starts giving you a hard time? Curious, as I would really like at least one bright green bladed unit. More on that later.

Take caer!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kukri

For everyone who wanted to know about the little curved blade that could. I thought this was interesting as I wanted to take a look at some blades made in various areas. No, I get an article on how they came to be. Not that I am complaining, mind you. I may even (when I get back home) do up a few designs with the original spelling in the title.

Cool.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falchion

Article about falchions. Never thought they were supposed to be one-handed. Found it after bouncing through a few other links. Now some of these blade designs remind me of some of the CEP weapons I have seen. I don't know if Ziroc has passed by some of these though.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makhaira
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kopis
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falcata
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xiphos
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gladius

And for those who want to see more actual kukri, check out this link here:
http://www.khukuriknife.com/
and here
http://www.himalayan-imports.com/

On that second link, they even have more information on the history of the kukri. In fact, depending on the design, we could even have the variant blades made up and have them all under the "kukri"label. So what do you think, Ziroc? A few more brand new blade designs for the kukri? If you make the designs, I'd be more than happy to do up weapon names, stats, and even histories for you.

Really nice blade designs for swords. Sure, not directly related to the topic, but I wonder how long it would take to do up blades like some of these? (the ones not already inside of the current hakpack file, that is.)

More information on Japanese swords. I still need to do some more serious research on the dao blade (Chinese fighting sword) as well as the jian.

A listing (with pictures) of tons of really nice weapons and armor most of you should already recognize. even more pictures of kukri and falcata in there.
