I am in the Yuan-ti city, in the area where a little girls says some strange prophecies. Well, I was in a battle, got a little wounded and ran out of spells and... well, I couldn'r rest there. By some reason. The last time I played this game I am sure I could rest whenever I wanted to.
Is it a bug, or is it because I installed HoW? |

IIRC, you can't rest on that level without at least running the risk of being interupted. I seem to recall in IWD that the room in the southwest could be used for this purpose but as you point out, that MAY have been altered with HOW or maybe I just got lucky last time I was in that area.

Yea, I noticed that too when I installed HoW, so I guess it indeed Heart-related. You can't rest in the level directly above (the Temple of the false Eldathyn) either, so you'll either have to go to the Necromancer-level and hope you don't get interrupted by Zombies, or go all the way up to the exit, where you can rest in peace, so to speak.

OK, I thought I was mistaken then...cause I remember being able to rest in the room where you find the other party who help you kill...I had started a new game in HOF mode and tried to rest!! No go...So I ran back to level before, rested, then came back down and whupped @$$..by the way SPOILER!!!
SPOILER . . . . . . . . . . . . . . You get a single chance to rest when you release that party from thier dungeon...you can ask them to watch over you while you sleep..like I said, it's a one time offer though.. |

No - it is not a one time offer
Marchon of Waterdeep and the rest just go back to near the room where they were held captive - you can meet them there and rest all you want

I'm playing IWD for the 2nd time and have the HoW loaded - noticed the NPC are a little harder to kill AND you can't rest in some of the areas, too.

Some clarification:
The original post referred to the level with "the little girl" which is the level BELOW the high summoner and Marchand of Waterdeep. It IS possible to rest without interupption in the room with Marchand et al but NOT on the level with the "little girl".
