...and it was not even for alcohol or the nudie bar!

In fact, it was for a dang can of air at Office Depot!

I needed a can of air to help clean out the PC dust and I was upset to see that a little 10 oz. can was $9.00 because I remembered that I used to buy cans bigger than that for like $3.00. Why it was so much more expensive, I do not know, but I had to have it today so I grabbed it and checked out. The guy asks for my ID. I reminded him that I had not yet given him a credit card that he'd have to check ID for, and he said that he had to ID me because air cannot be sold to kids under 18. I did not know if I should be angered or flattered, for I am 30 and even though I look young for my age...I did not think I'd pass for under 18! I show him my license and he takes a moment to locate the age section because he's not from NC. I ask him, what the heck is this about, and he responds that too many kids buy the canned air to get high on.

Do people really do that? I knew the next generation was having some issues, but seriously? Canned air? The only thing that stuff is good for is freezing the hell outta insects and stuff.

I get carded all the time LOL. Funny too, I didn't get carded as much when I was actually underage..maybe it was all the makeup I used to wear LOL? Who knows.

But yeah, canned air? People are getting high on canned air? And now you have to be carded to buy it? Ridiculous.

I'm still pissed I can't now buy my Tylenol Sinus for my headaches because they took out the Pseudoephedrine out of it and replaced it with something that doesn't do crap for my headaches. Why? Cause of craphole Meth labs using it to make meth. So I, and many others, now suffer without relief from our headaches because of them. Grrrr!

I abused inhalants when I was in high school. A very dangerous and stupid thing to do. They were easily available and plentiful. Of course so were the usual drugs, but we couldn't just go buy those at Walgreens.

Here in Boston, I always get asked for ID. Apparently if you look under-40, they'll card you.

But... It's AIR! Isn't it? As in... the stuff that we all breathe. That's freely available. Or do they need to add chemicals to it for its aerosol form?

I thought the whole point of it was that it was pure air, and so could be used for things like cleaning...

No, it's the flouroethane propellant.

Clearly, it's the thing that does the thing with the thing when you thing the thing.

I think.

I'm guessing it's the chemical added that propels the air from the can.

Well, my limited knowledge of chemistry would suggest that fluoroethane is a flourine atom bound to an ethane molecule.

Looks flammable and poisonous.
