I've just started with the Mutamin's challenge quest, the dungeon that can be accessed through the Green Griffon Inn. Now I'm wondering... Is it worth the trouble? Or is it just another dungeon to get a lot of Experience and some nice magical items or weapons at the end, without any plot or quest items whatsoever? In other words, a waste of time?

I don't think you have to do this one, but it does allow another quest afterwards and provides some neat items and XP.

There are two approaches to this dungeon. A quick route through puzzle solving, and the long way. Either way, you can circle back and finish both parts.

The end of this dungeon is the toughest battle I've seen so far in the game.

The puzzle route is to the right on entering, the long route is to the left.

It really is worth the effort in my opinion. I took both routes and finished with a very nifty weapon and some nice armour too.

I agree!
And so do I now... Thanks for the tips!
One thing though... The battle at the end of the dungeon was just a group of spiders, wasn't too difficult. Of course, I put the right item in the chest right away, maybe that played a role as well.

Spiders?

Um, that wasn't the finale I was thinking about.

Oh well, I do remember that I enjoyed the dungeon, and I'm glad you did, too. Sorry for the misinfo.

Wasn't the final riddle a little familiar though? Bilbo Baggins and Golum, anyone?

I got spiders, too, IIRC. I was slightly disappointed with it, personally. I wanted it to be a bit longer.

Awg, maybe the battle could have been a lot more difficult if I did the dungeon differently, who knows. Or maybe you're confused now with a different dungeon. Do you still recall what you encountered in that final battle?

Yes, it was a different dungeon area, but the final rooms are look similar.

The one I'm talking about is near the Green Griffen Inn. You'll find it!

Something involving a graveyard? Then I know what you're talking about...
On the other hand, I just figured out there *is* an essential plot item to be found in this quest. Remember the dwarf that attacks you in the dungeon? He has the item needed for the half-orc henchman's quest... Pity the dwarf for some reason stopped his attack and I simply forgot about him, and long after I finished the entire dungeon, I finally read somewhere that the henchman quest item was in there. Incredibly frustrating, especially when you realize you can't go back there and finish the dwarf afterwards, as the dungeon simply isn't there anymore.
