Eltoona's books......spoilerish

So in order to create anything in those books you have to have at least one lvl of Sorc/Wiz?

I've been reluctant to "turn in" the books without making the item first, but I couldn't figure out how to make them.

Can you use the thiefs ability to use any item to cast the required spell instead?

If not, are any of the items you create worth taking a magic user level?

for starters - you can hand in the books and collect the reward - the 'recepies' can be found in the bookcase in the center of Eltoona's magic lab.

You can use magic device skill to cast spells from scrolls - now you just have to find/buy there relevant scrolls. So you won't have to take a mage level. Some items also cast the spells neccesary (F.x. fireball from a special fire opal)

To use the recepies - go into Eltoona's lab - place the required spell-components in the center of the big room (I forgot what kind of container it is) a cast the spell at the container. Then you will be able to pick up the created item afterwards.

Isn't she the one outdoors on the cliff in Port Llast?

She does have one of those fountain/well things there, but I don't remember a bookshelf, and she says I can use the books before I turn them over.

Am I thinking of the right thing? Eltoora who needs a reageant before she lets you look at her inventory?

Most of the required spells are below level 5, so you may have the "Use Magic Device" skill points to successfully use the applicable scroll/device.

I remember "Stoneskin", "Dispell Magic", "Enervation", "Melf's Acid Arrow", "Fireball", and "Improved Invisibility" being required to create an item. Note that you can buy or find most of the items you make that are not mage/sorc specific.

She reappears in Chapter 3 with another lab and books for you to find. The Books are not a quest and can be found in containers as you progress through the chapter quests.

I think I stumbled upon one in one of those random chests; somewhere in chapter 1, I believe.

I was hoping that after something I read in a different thread, but no, she doesn't.

She has a couple of elemental spells though. I was about to post a query, as to whether one of these would work or not, when someone mentioned it was actually a Ranger spell.

I'm lingering in Chapter 2 hoping to find/buy one.

EDIT: I may have found one in Chapter one, but since I was a fighter, I sold all spells.
