The Winter King, Enemy of God, and Excalibur by Bernard Cornwell.
Not that well known here in the States, but imo one of the best Arthurian retellings around. Right up there with Mists of Avalon. It's a more historical tale of how Arthur's life could actually have happened. Great perspective on religion too, that is particularly poignant in these times. Love to talk with anyone who's read it.
