Default Pre TBC pvp

Would you prefer it if PvP went back to what it was pre BC?

IMO i would, firstly because you wouldnt have all these 80s running around going 'lolimleetroflcoptersyoudiednub', which of course most of them are VERY bad at their class when you duel them (Not always.. but most). With everyone looking the same there isnt really that much individuality between characters.

More impressed with people using T6 rather than S3.

Also resil.. I hate it. Its very useful if you dont want to get wtfpwned in 2 seconds, but at the same time you cant do the leet awesome crits your capable of, not to mention hardly critting at all. My mutilate rogue has the +15% to crit buff, 21% to crit, yet hardly crits with mutilate vs ppl in pvp gear. Kinda helps with DoT's though.

I dunno i thought id post my two cents on the subject. Easy epics arnt really that good, no more respect for items in game any more. Before you got like... a blue that was average and you would be fairly happy with it. Now im finding i got S1 gears, purples arn't as satisfying.

I agree with this. Yes it's easier for the part-time gamers, as you don't have to be constantly high-ranked to get the best PVP stuff, but it's way too easy to get PVP epics.

I was talking to this with my dad about this (he plays WoW, mostly just for PVP) and back before TBC when my server got our first Grand Marshal it was an achievement, everyone knew his name. I know you can't get the titles anymore, but the gear itself was a feat to get. Now, you just grind it out. You see people with gladiator weapons and blues and greens.

Aye pvp isn't what it used to be. I said long ago what a joke resilience was too, furthering the margins between pve and pvp viable gear.

I prefer post-TBC PvP. Relatively easily acquired epics results in an even playing field, which means that skill comes into play to determine who wins, not who spends more nights a week raiding Kel'Thuzad. Sure, I respect old-school grand marshals, but back at 60 there was hardly any point in my hauling an MC-clad character into a battleground only to get 2-shot by people with better gear than I can even dream of getting.

Nowadays, I can actually stand toe-to-toe against people whose only advantage over me had been playing about 5 times as often. Fights actually last long and can draw out, instead of mages jumping around 1-shotting people with pyroblasts and warriors cleaving through clothies by the dozen.

Actually i found back then you could pvp in almost anything. If you watch Mute pvp, he killed Grand Marshal warriors in nothing but a worn dagger, and ive seen some vids where a mage kills some stuff gearless too.

I don't mind it how it is now.

I'm pure pve, but my lock does have some s3 etc, just for when im totally bored i do arena, and gotta spend points on something.

But, if I do go into a BG / world pvp, im always in pve gear.

With 4parts T6 and the rest pretty shit hot gear, I can still crit people for 6k-8k. And my best crit was 5k against a full s3 priest (in a duel). Pve gear > pvp just for the pure awesome damage.

pvp gear is basically based on arena, stricly survivability for resil n such, seeing as you can only die once per match. But if you reckon you do leet ass crits with pve gears, i might start doing pve stuff then for teh awesome damage.

BTW is it me or do locks have far more spell damage from gear than mages?

Yes locks have far more spell damage.

Raid buffed i can approach 1600+ shadow damage, our mages hit 1300 I think.

Thats also with 33% crit raid buffed and 202 spell hit. Oh, and around 100 spell haste atm.

Not to mention lack of downtime on the grind upward, as far as water and pet go. Demo spec will double your xp per hour once you switch over at 50 ish. One of the faster classes to level next to hunter.

Heh oh how things have changed. My first ever toon was a human warlock an di got like 1oo days /played before boredom stuck in and i had my first 3 month break from wow. Warlock used to be 1 of the slowest lvling classes, just before druid . Back in those days i was a free kill for any undead player, 30 sec wotf slow dot damage over 35-40 secs and priests stealing my Dreadmist! . I got head hunted to join one of the best guilds on the server purely because there were no warlocks on the server. Was 1 of 2 warlock let into the raid, even tho we were topping damage in mc we still had this stigma attached that warlocks were shiz.
Then the glory days began! Demonology became viable but soul link was a 30 second buff that had to be recasted all the time! Then demon got buffed again, and i absolutely loved being an unkillable dot, run around and crit searing pain. The huge soul fire crits. The rogues crying now i killed about 90% i ran into. Then began the overpowered days, followed closely by the extremely overpowered day of arenas. Gotta admit 'lock + SP was sometimes so funny, dots then run around a pole, gg.
Now i've been out of the loop bout 3-4 months and spend the 2 before that mainly playing a druid healer. How are 'locks nowdays? dunno why i'm asking really. SO burnt out on wow, think i'll sell my acc to a guildie and chill till AoC.
