Ever be in a conversation with someone who is talking about something you really don't like, or aren't interested in, or that bothers you, and it goes on and on and you want to stop it somehow?

What do you do or say?

I, myself, use a phrase that a family member started LOL. "Well there you go then." It pretty much ends most convos you don't want to be in. I love it LOL. "ooo my rash is getting worse"...."Well there you go then."

That was just one out of many examples, and no luckily I don't know anyone who has some bad rash LOL, it's just what popped into my head. So there you go then.

Anyways, anyone else have any similar things, whether it be words or actions, that you do to get yourself out of uncomfortable conversations?

I don't know if I have any particular ones... I guess sometimes if someone at the office is going on and on about something I don't need to know or keeping me from getting work done I say something like, "that's nice..." or "I gotta get back to the office" and try to turn back to my work or walk away if I can.

So there you go, then! LOL

I'm usually blunt about it. Go with "I don't care" or "why are you telling me this" and it works every time.

I'm pretty blunt about it most of the time. If it's a topic that makes me uncomfortable, I'll let them know I don't want to talk about it. Though, sometimes when I don't want to talk to someone on the phone I'll go

"What? YEAH BE RIGHT THERE MOM! Hey hold on. *set the phone there, stand for 10 seconds, come back* Yeah hey I gotta go, see you later."

Hmmm... depends on how A.D.D. I'm feeling. If I'm particularly distracted, and in danger of spacing out anyway, I just walk away. Otherwise I go with the one eyebrow raised look of dumb confusion. They think about explaining themselves and quickly give up.

[friendly] Why again, are we exactly having this conversation?
[rude]Do I look like somebody who really gives a flipping, flying, frick?
[unknown] Really, and you say that in public?
