Re: Installing Planescape: Torment
Besides the wide-res patch (and the GUI mod, it's needed imo otherwise your menus, cut screens etc will end up in the top left corner of the monitor) there are 3 other patches:
1. An unofficial patch that fixes bugs, spelling, grammar etc not fixed by the official 1.1 patch 2. An Unfinished Business patch that restores content that the Black Isle decided to leave out of the game 3. A tweak pack All available at Spellhold Studios. Re: Installing Planescape: Torment
Yeah, I was checking out their descriptions on the site, they sound pretty good. So, in they go.
I know the obvious, install the game first, but is there a preferable order for installation? the wide screen then the other three, or just kinda any order as long as the game goes in first (duh.)

Re: Installing Planescape: Torment
Thanks, hayashi. The install guide really helped. Only issue I'm running into now is when I exit the game I get the "this program has stopped unexpectedly" message which I find hilarious since I closed the program myself. Pretty sure it's an issue with the computer I'm using though, as my dad has experienced a similar issue with a totally unrelated game on the same machine.

Re: Installing Planescape: Torment
You're welcome. I get the same issue when I exit the game, I'm using Win7.

Re: Installing Planescape: Torment
Removed the Max HP component of the tweaks pack and the "program shut down unexpectedly" messages have ceased.

Re: Installing Planescape: Torment
Started to copy all of disc 2 to my HD and it stalls out around AR0610.cbf. Says it can't read the file, only see a few minor scratches on my disc. Thing is, it copied just fine over onto my dads laptop a couple weeks ago. So I'm guessing it could be the different drives, or it could have sustained more wear'n'tear in that time.
I'm thinking I'll make a backup disc of the files from my dad's computer for future full installs. One question, is this at all questionable or prohibited in terms of copyright legality?

Re: Installing Planescape: Torment
IIRC you can make 1 backup for personal use it's okay and your right by law. I mean, if you need one file only it won't be an issue either. What are you gonna do with 1 file if you got it free from someone?
Also check if this one file is available on Disc 1. Sometimes the exact one will be there. You can tell by comparing sizes.
